Overview
This interdisciplinary diploma program at NorQuest College focuses on the business side of the energy industry, covering technologies such as microgeneration, supply chain management, and community energy planning. The program runs over four core terms, with an optional fifth term for a paid 16-week co-op placement providing 600 hours of practical experience through a competitive application process. It is based at the Edmonton campus. Graduates are prepared for roles such as energy advisor, analyst, assessor, auditor, consultant, and project manager across utility companies, government, consulting firms, oil and gas, and facilities management. The programme is not currently open to international students.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires English Language Arts 30-1 at 60% or 30-2 at 70% (or the equivalent ESLG 1860/1898), and Mathematics 30-1 or 30-2 at 50%; applicants holding a Bachelor of Science, Technology, or Engineering degree are considered to have met the academic requirement provided they meet the English proficiency standard. Non-native English speakers must submit proof: IELTS Academic 6.5 with no section below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 84 with no section below 21, Cambridge English 180 with no section below 165, CAEL 70 with no section below 70, or CLBA/CLBPA with no section below 8. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required for entry into the optional internship, and a 2.0 cumulative GPA is required to graduate. The programme is not currently open to international students.
