Engineering Foundations Certificate

Admission Requirements: This certificate requires a C+ in Pre-Calculus 12 or MAT 060 or equivalent (or a successful Math assessment) and a C+ in English 12 or equivalent (or a successful English assessment); courses requiring a science background additionally need a C+ in Chemistry 12 and a C+ in Physics 12, with prerequisite upgrading available before or after admission. The programme page welcomes international applicants (the certificate is Post-Graduation Work Permit eligible) but does not publish its own English-proficiency test score; international applicants who need to demonstrate proficiency instead meet North Island College's general international requirement, which for most (Open Entry) programs is an Academic IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, or the equivalent PTE, CAEL, Cambridge, or Duolingo score, unless the program is designated Limited Entry, which asks for a higher per-band minimum. Graduation requires an overall C+ average across all courses counting toward the certificate (C+ average with no grade below C for students transferring to UVic).
