Municipal Engineering Technology is a 32-month diploma that begins with a shared first year in Civil Engineering Technology before students proceed into the two-year Municipal Engineering Technology option. The program prepares municipal engineering technologists to provide technical support to engineers, architects, and other professionals across construction, water resources, geotechnical, and environmental engineering projects. Coursework covers water supply systems, hydrology, soil behaviour, fluid dynamics, roadway design, and pavement analysis, culminating in an applied research project. Students complete mandatory six-month co-op work terms after Year 1 and Year 2, with a laptop-based delivery component in later years, at the Notre Dame Campus in Winnipeg. The program is accredited through CTTAM and CCTT pathways and can lead toward Engineering Licensee (Eng. L.) status with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba after further work experience. Graduates are prepared for technical roles supporting municipal infrastructure, civil, and environmental engineering projects.

Admission Requirements: Admission to Municipal Engineering Technology requires successful completion of the first year of the Civil Engineering Technology program with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and a minimum grade of C in CIVL-2026 Surveying 2.
