Nanosystems Engineering Technology is a two-year diploma program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, described on the program page as Canada's only program of its kind. Students train in specialized labs, including a cleanroom facility, learning to operate equipment such as scanning electron microscopes for micro- and nano-fabrication work. The curriculum covers electronics, communications, industrial systems and problem-solving skills applied at the nano scale, preparing graduates for roles in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, advanced batteries and medical diagnostics. Industry partners, including Applied Nanotools, have hired graduates for photonics and diffractive-optics production work that draws on their micro- and nano-fabrication training. At the time of review the program page showed it was not accepting new applications. It suits students interested in nanotechnology, materials science and advanced manufacturing.
