Drama is an Honours undergraduate program administered by the DAN School of Drama and Music within the Faculty of Arts and Science, leading to a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree. Students are not required to audition; they enrol in DRAM 100 in first year and select the Drama plan at the end of that year. Coursework combines practical training in acting, design, playwriting, production, and directing with academic study of theatre and performance history, literature, and theory. The Major plan (DRAM-M) consists of 48.00 core and option units, combined with a Minor in a second subject and electives, to a total of 120.00 units. Core courses include Theatre Histories and Traditions, Play Reading and Analysis, Introduction to Theatre Production, Theatre Practicum, and Theatre and Drama in the 20th and 21st Centuries, together with acting and 400-level option courses. Students may pursue a Concurrent Education degree alongside the Honours Drama degree, or complete the Certificate in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Creativity (QEIC-ENIN) as an add-on. Graduates commonly work as theatre technicians, designers, directors, stage managers, playwrights, and performers, or pursue further study.
