Overview
Global Development Studies (DEVS) at Queen's University combines classroom teaching with online course options to examine global development challenges, preparing students for careers and further study in fields from law and business to journalism and public policy. The Major plan (48 units, DEVS-M), combined with a major or minor in another subject and sufficient electives to a total of 120 units, leads to a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree; Specialization (60 units, DEVS-S), Minor (24 units, DEVS-Y), and a 90-unit General plan are also offered. Students complete a general first year, typically including DEVS 101 and DEVS 102, before selecting a DEVS plan for second year. The Department of Global Development Studies is based in Mackintosh-Corry Hall on Queen's Kingston campus.
