Overview
The Master of Arts (MA) in Gender Studies at Queen's University is a one-year program in the Department of Gender Studies that trains students in critical race, gender, and sexuality studies and their application to work for social change. Full-time students complete seven courses: two required 3.0-credit courses, four 3.0-credit elective courses, which may include Gender Studies graduate courses, a practicum option, courses in other departments, or independently organized directed readings, and a non-credit Proseminar taken across the fall and winter terms. Students also complete a Major Research Paper of up to 50 pages during the spring and summer terms. Applicants are supervised by a Gender Studies faculty member or a Queen's faculty member cross-appointed within Gender Studies, and are encouraged to contact potential supervisors before applying. All programs begin in the fall term. Full-time MA students are guaranteed a funding package, though this does not cover tuition and fees, which are paid separately for each term of registration.

Admission Requirements: MA Admission Requirements: a four-year undergraduate degree (BA Hons) in Gender Studies or a cognate field (e.g. Women's Studies, Feminist Studies, Sexuality Studies) from a recognized university, or in another field with evidence of a prior focus on gender, and a minimum of B+ in the last two years of university study.
