The Global Online MBA is a cohort-based program from Smith School of Business at Queen's University, delivered in a 24- or 36-month part-time format for working professionals, with a September start. Approximately 70 percent of coursework is delivered through live, synchronous sessions with the assigned cohort, held Tuesday evenings and alternating Sunday afternoons Eastern Time, with the remainder completed independently through the school's online learning platform. The program begins with an in-person Opening Session in Toronto before continuing entirely online. After completing the core MBA curriculum, students choose electives in areas such as digital transformation and AI applications, global strategy, analytics and valuation, entrepreneurship, and leadership and coaching, including options at partner schools abroad. Graduates receive the same Smith School of Business MBA credential awarded through Queen's University's full-time and executive MBA programs. The program is accredited by AACSB and EQUIS and is eligible for OSAP funding.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Successful applicants to the Global Online MBA typically hold a four-year undergraduate degree from a recognized university (three-year degrees are assessed individually by the Admissions Committee), with a minimum B+ average, roughly equivalent to 75%, in the final two years of the program; international applicants with degrees from outside North America must submit a WES Credential Evaluation. Most candidates have at least two years of work experience, though exceptional candidates with less may be considered, and co-op placements and post-doctoral fellowships are also given consideration. Two professional references are required from current or previous supervisors, a client or a mentor. A valid GMAT or GRE score written within the last five years is normally expected, though the Admissions Committee may waive this requirement for candidates holding certain professional designations (CFA Level I or higher, CPA, P.Eng, PMP), a strong LSAT or MCAT score, or a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher from a first-entry Queen's undergraduate degree. Applicants without an English-language education must also submit a TOEFL iBT score of 100 overall (minimum 24 on speaking and writing) or an IELTS Academic score of 7.0.
