Overview
Urban Planning Studies is an 18-unit Certificate (Plan Code URPS-C-UPS) administered by the Department of Geography and Planning at Queen's University, completed alongside another Arts and Science degree. The Certificate's core requirements cover Cities: Geography, Planning, and Urban Life; Geographies of the Global Political Economy; and Introduction to Urban and Regional Planning, followed by 9 units of electives chosen from topics such as geographic information science, transportation geography, regional development and planning, urban political geography, gender and the city, and urban natures. Up to 9 units of core and option courses may be double-counted toward another Arts and Science program, and up to 9 units may be transfer credits from outside Queen's. The Certificate is recorded on students' official transcripts on graduation and builds applied knowledge in urban and regional planning alongside a primary undergraduate degree.
