Overview
Carpentry is an 18-week applied certificate offered by Saskatchewan Polytechnic's School of Construction at the Prince Albert and Saskatoon campuses. The program gives students foundational knowledge and hands-on skills for work in the residential and commercial construction industries, building a base in framing, building materials, and general construction methods used across the carpentry trade. Instruction is delivered on campus with a January intake. Graduates are prepared for entry-level carpentry work and can use the certificate toward further trades training, including apprenticeship pathways in the construction sector. Admission requires Grade 11 with one of Foundations of Mathematics 20, Pre-Calculus 20, or Workplace and Apprenticeship Mathematics 20, along with Saskatchewan Polytechnic's English Language Requirement. Applicants who do not meet the standard academic requirements may qualify through ACCUPLACER testing or by presenting 15 approved post-secondary credits.
Requirements
