Credits earned in the program can be applied toward Level 1 of the Construction Electrician apprenticeship overseen by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission. The program suits individuals seeking entry-level positions with electrical contractors in residential and commercial construction, as well as energy, mining, manufacturing, retail, and wholesale employers. It functions as a starting point toward a trade career rather than a complete apprenticeship on its own. Admission Requirements: Admission requires Grade 11 with Foundations of Mathematics 20, Workplace and Apprenticeship Mathematics 20 or Pre-Calculus 20 (or the former Math 20 or General Math 30). Applicants lacking the standard credential can qualify through ACCUPLACER, with minimum scores of 250 Arithmetic, 245 Quantitative Reasoning/Algebra/Statistics, 247 Reading and 236 Writing, or through 15 approved post-secondary credits. The programme applies Saskatchewan Polytechnic's institution-wide English Language Requirement: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with 5.0 per band, TOEFL iBT 81 overall with 19 per skill, PTE Academic 63 overall with 50 per component, Duolingo English Test 110, or CAEL 60 overall with 50 per component. Admission is First Qualified/First Admitted, with applications opening September 1 annually for intakes running August, January (Prince Albert and Saskatoon) or February (Regina).

Application Deadline:Saskatchewan Polytechnic admits most programs on a First Qualified/First Admitted (FQFA) basis: applications open 1 September each year for both domestic and international applicants, there is no fixed closing date, and seats are filled in order of the date an applicant becomes fully qualified until the program and waitlist are full, so students are urged to apply as early as possible. A small group of Competitive programs (including the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology and Practical Nursing) instead uses fixed dates for the September 2027 intake: applications open 1 October 2026, close 15 February 2027 for domestic and 31 December 2026 for international applicants, with supporting documents due 15 March 2027 (domestic) or 31 January 2027 (international) and offer letters typically issued in early April 2027. Admission for the FQFA programs is effectively rolling; the Competitive programs are not. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
