— it helps other students.
This applied certificate program, offered through the School of Construction, trains students for entry-level plumbing roles through practical, hands-on instruction, concluding with a two-week job placement. The program is delivered on campus at the Regina and Saskatoon campuses, with an additional off-campus option through the Centre for Continuing Education and regional colleges. It runs 16 weeks full-time, with intakes in January and August. Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions as plumbers, gas fitters, pipefitters, or HVAC mechanics with plumbing contractors, construction companies, or maintenance departments in industrial settings, and the program provides a foundation toward further apprenticeship training toward journeyperson certification. Students supply their own personal protective equipment, including steel-toed work boots, for the hands-on shop and job-placement components of the program.
