The Registered Nursing Bridging Program for Internationally Educated Nurses is a 36-week certificate program that prepares internationally educated nurses to practise as Registered Nurses in Canada, run by Saskatchewan Polytechnic's School of Nursing in Regina. Delivery is hybrid, combining online theory with on-site labs and group clinical practice in Regina, while preceptored clinical placements can be completed elsewhere in Saskatchewan; students have up to two years to complete the program. Coursework covers the Canadian health care system, health assessment, communication and care of the elderly, Canadian medical terminology and drug therapy, regulations, ethics, safety and cultural competency, and the language and cultural issues international nurses may encounter. Students take part in simulation labs and supervised clinical practice, with clinical skills assessed against Canadian techniques and equipment, before preparing to write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). The program is approved by the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) and meets the regulator's minimum entry-level competency standards. Graduates pursue Registered Nurse roles in hospitals, northern health facilities, community clinics and long-term care facilities across Saskatchewan once their credentials are recognized by CRNS.
