Overview
This diploma program prepares students for practical nursing practice, covering anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, health assessment, and nursing care across long-term care, medical-surgical, maternal-child, mental health and addictions, and community settings. Admission Requirements: Admission requires Grade 12 with a minimum overall average of 65%, including a 30-level English Language Arts course, Foundations of Mathematics 30, Pre-Calculus 30 or Workplace and Apprenticeship Mathematics 30, one of Biology 30, Chemistry 30 or Physics 30, and one of Social Studies 30, History 30 or Native Studies 30 (older Saskatchewan math courses such as Math A30/B30/C30, Calculus 30 or General Math 30 are also accepted). The programme applies Saskatchewan Polytechnic's institution-wide English Language Requirement: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with 5.0 in each band, TOEFL iBT 81 overall with 19 in each skill, PTE Academic 63 overall with 50 per component, Duolingo English Test 110, or CAEL 60 overall with 50 per component. Applicants must be at least 18 by December 31 of the admission year and, before starting, must clear a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search and provide Standard First Aid/BLS-HCP CPR, TLR certification, current immunization records, N95 fit-test evidence and WHMIS GHS certification. Admission is competitive, ranked by academic average; the domestic application deadline is February 15.
