Trades - Apprenticeship in Industrial Electrician

Sault College delivers the in-school training component of the Industrial Electrician apprenticeship, meeting the classroom training requirements set by Ontario's Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Training consists of a basic course of eight weeks, followed by intermediate and advanced courses of ten weeks each, for a total of three in-school levels. Students gain theoretical and practical training in industrial electrical systems to complement the on-the-job learning completed with their sponsoring employer. Instruction is delivered on campus in Sault Ste. Marie. The program is open only to individuals already registered as apprentices in the Industrial Electrician trade with the Ministry; classroom training is not available to those who have not secured an employer sponsor. Completion of each level is a scheduled Ministry requirement on the path to writing the Certificate of Qualification examination in the trade.
