Overview

Trent University's Psychology program (BA.PSYC) leads to a Bachelor of Arts, General, and covers the scientific study of behaviour and the mind, giving students a broad-based background in the discipline's core content and research methods. The single-major General program requires 15.0 credits, including PSYC 1020H, 1030H, 2018H, and 2019H, further Psychology courses selected across designated Natural Science and Social Science categories, at least 1.0 credit at the 3000 level or beyond, plus university-wide degree requirements. A 60% or higher in PSYC 1020H and 1030H is required before students can take upper-level Psychology courses, and a 4U Mathematics course is strongly recommended for prospective majors. At upper levels, students have the opportunity to focus on specialized topics and take part in original research. The department also offers a parallel Bachelor of Science stream with additional science and mathematics credit requirements.
