Program details

Overview

This program leads to a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, offered as a Major, Honours, or Minor, with a Degree Completion Program available fully online for adult learners returning to study. Delivered mainly in person at the Toronto campus with some online coursework, the curriculum spans behavioural, cognitive, personality, social, and abnormal psychology, alongside courses that connect psychological theory with Christian faith perspectives, cross-cultural psychology, and neuropsychology. Students gain practicum experience working in settings such as special-needs education or youth mental health services, and Honours students undertake independent research projects. The program is intended for those planning careers in counselling, behaviour analysis, or social services, as well as those pursuing further study in psychology research, and it accommodates working adults unable to follow a traditional in-person schedule through its online completion option.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 65.00 / %
Admission Requirements: Tyndale's Psychology (BA Honours) program page does not list its own entrance criteria and defers applicants to the university's general undergraduate admission requirements. For an Ontario high-school applicant this means a minimum overall average of 65%, including a minimum of 65% in ENG4U, plus five other Grade 12 U or M courses; comparable 65%-average routes exist for applicants from other provinces (for example English 30 plus four additional Grade 12 academic subjects in Alberta). Applicants whose first language is not English, or who have not completed three years of study at an English-medium secondary or post-secondary institution, must submit one of: IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90, TOEFL PBT 570, or Duolingo English Test 120. The Admissions Committee may also require an interview or a Writing and Diagnostic Test before an offer is confirmed.

Application Details

Start Date: September and January
Application Deadline: Tyndale University runs a largely rolling undergraduate admissions process with no fixed closing date: applicants submit a free application and transcripts and typically get a decision within two weeks, for entry in the September (Fall) or January (Winter) semester. International applicants pay a $150 fee and are recommended, not required, to have a complete application in by 1 April for September entry or by 1 October for January entry so the Admissions Committee's one-month review and study-permit processing have enough lead time; Tyndale publishes no firm international closing date for the 2026-27 cycle, and admission otherwise continues on a rolling basis. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
