MA/MS in Maîtrise en sciences biomédicales

The Maitrise en sciences biomedicales at Universite de Montreal is a 45-credit graduate program introducing students to fundamental biomedical research through knowledge acquisition and research initiation in the fundamental, evaluative, or epidemiological aspects of human health. Students develop critical thinking and scientific communication skills while working within a research team toward a thesis or dissertation. Two options are offered: Experimental Medicine and Cardiovascular Sciences. Full-time and part-time study are available, with day classes offered at the Montreal campus. Before applying, candidates must secure a letter of acceptance from a research director willing to supervise their work; the admissions committee may also request a letter of motivation, letters of recommendation, or an interview. Admission requires a Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree, or a professional degree such as an M.D., D.M.D., or D.M.V., or other training deemed equivalent. New students are admitted in the Winter, Summer, and Fall terms.
