The Maitrise en sciences buccodentaires at Universite de Montreal is a 45-credit, research-focused graduate program training students in fundamental, clinical, or epidemiological dental research. The program is open to both practising dentists and graduates with degrees in health or life sciences, and can be combined with the Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) program for a dual credential. Students carry out scientific investigation with access to research platforms including advanced microscopy, molecular biology, and cell culture across sixteen laboratories, in collaboration with university-affiliated hospitals such as CHUM and CHU Sainte-Justine. Full-time study requires a minimum of three consecutive terms and a maximum of six terms, with day courses offered at the Montreal campus. Before applying, candidates must secure a letter of acceptance from a research director; the required academic background varies depending on whether prior credentials were earned in Quebec, elsewhere in Canada, or internationally. New students are admitted in the Summer, Fall, and Winter terms.
