The Baccalauréat en études littéraires et culturelles is a 90-credit bachelor's degree at Université de Sherbrooke's Faculté des lettres et sciences humaines, leading to the degree of Bachelière or bachelier ès arts. The programme builds a strong foundation in literature, with particular attention to Quebec and French corpora, and deepens students' understanding of culture in relation to literature. Students develop critical analysis, aesthetic evaluation, historical understanding, and synthesis skills, are introduced to the methods and tools of literary research, and gain an initial grounding in literary and artistic creation and the diversity of cultural objects. The programme also develops oral and written presentation skills. It is offered under a regular study regime, full-time or part-time, with admission at the Fall and Winter terms at the Sherbrooke main campus.
