The Baccalauréat en sciences de l'information quantique is a 90-credit bachelor's degree at Université de Sherbrooke's Faculté des sciences, leading to the degree of Bachelière or bachelier ès sciences. The programme gives students a multidisciplinary science base for quantum work: mathematics for analyzing quantum phenomena, classical programming and algorithmics, and the foundations of quantum information and algorithmics, together with applied training in modelling quantum systems and quantum computer architectures. Students complete integrative projects in quantum programming, quantum solutions, and science communication, and apply engineering methods to problem-solving. The programme runs under a mandatory co-operative (work-study) regime, alternating academic sessions with paid work placements across roughly five years of study and internship terms; placements are open to international students. Admission is offered at the Fall and Winter terms at the Sherbrooke main campus. Graduates are positioned to enter the labour market in quantum science and technology or, under certain conditions, to continue into a related master's programme.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet Université de Sherbrooke's general admission condition for 1st-cycle (undergraduate) programmes. Specific requirements: a DEC in Natural Sciences (200.B1), a DEC in Science, Literature and Art (700.A1), an International Baccalaureate diploma (200.Z1), or a DEC in Computer Science and Mathematics (200.C1); or any DEC plus differential calculus [0M02/0PU2], integral calculus [0M03/0PU3], linear algebra and vector geometry [0M04/0PU4], mechanics [0P01], electricity and magnetism [0P02], and waves and modern physics [0P03]. Applicants holding a technical DEC should contact the programme ([email protected]) for applicable pathway conditions. The programme is offered only under a full-time, mandatory co-operative (work-study) study regime.
