This Ph.D. program in Science, Technology and Society, offered by the Faculty of Human Sciences, trains researchers to a high level of specialization, expertise, and intellectual autonomy in the analysis of scientific and technological activity and its impact on contemporary societies. It draws on conceptual and methodological tools from multiple disciplines to prepare graduates for both academic careers and roles in the public sector, including universities, government agencies, and ministries, as well as in private research institutes and enterprises. The 90-credit program combines 18 credits of coursework with a 72-credit research and thesis component; applicants must submit an approximately 3,000-word research proposal as part of their application and are encouraged to secure a thesis supervisor before applying. Full-time study takes twelve trimesters and part-time study eighteen trimesters, with courses offered during the day and admission in the Fall or Winter term.
