This 45-credit graduate program in nursing sciences (thesis profile) is offered jointly through the Universite du Quebec network by UQAT, UQTR, UQAC, UQAR and UQO. Students develop advanced nursing practice competencies by completing a 24-credit supervised research thesis (memoire) alongside coursework in nursing epistemology, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and a thesis preparatory seminar. Six elective credits allow specialization in areas such as community health nursing, critical care, long-term care, family health, program development and evaluation, mental health, intercultural approaches, or perinatal and lactation support, with several elective courses offered at a distance. Graduates earn a Maitrise es sciences and are prepared to conduct research contributing to the advancement of nursing practice, education, and health-system management, and to take on clinical, transformational, and policy leadership roles in health establishments and the community.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must be a registered nurse holding a valid OIIQ practising licence and active OIIQ membership, and hold a bachelor's degree in nursing with a cumulative average of at least 3.2 on 4.3. Recent undergraduate-level knowledge of nursing foundations, research methods, and statistics is required, along with sufficient knowledge of English. The admission committee may require up to 9 credits of preparatory or make-up coursework for candidates below the 3.2 average or not otherwise meeting admission requirements, and may set a minimum grade of B for such coursework.
