This 45-credit graduate program in nursing sciences (clinical profile) trains registered nurses for advanced, autonomous clinical practice, offered jointly by UQAT, UQTR, UQAC, UQAR and UQO within the Universite du Quebec network. The curriculum combines core courses in nursing epistemology, pharmacology, quality-of-care strategies, program development and evaluation, and research and statistics with an 11-credit supervised clinical placement (stage). Students choose a specialization stream in either adult and older-adult care or in women's, children's and adolescents' health, each pairing pathophysiology and advanced clinical-assessment courses with a first-line advanced-practice course. The great majority of courses are delivered through synchronous distance learning via videoconference, complemented by the required in-person clinical placement. Full-time students typically complete the program in six to seven sessions; part-time completion is allowed up to a maximum of fifteen consecutive sessions, including summer terms. Graduates earn a Maitrise es sciences.
