The Master of Science (MSc) in Chemistry is a research-intensive program in which students collaborate with faculty across analytical, organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry, as well as nanoscience and polymer chemistry, with opportunities for interdisciplinary study. Students conduct original research in an area matching their interests while developing laboratory, analytical, and communication skills, supported by advanced research facilities for NMR, mass spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, spectroscopy, and nanoscience. Thesis-based students complete at least four 0.50-credit graduate courses in addition to a thesis, with sample courses covering toxicological chemistry, X-ray crystallography, synthetic organic reactions, and research literature review. Delivery is on-campus, with admission offered for Fall, Winter, and Summer starts. Full-time students complete the degree in 24 months (two years), with a part-time option extending completion to 48 months (four years). The program leads to a thesis-based Master of Science credential in Chemistry.
