Overview
This Computer Science program is offered by the Lassonde School of Engineering at the Keele Campus, leading to a BA, iBA, BSc or iBSc, studied full-time or part-time. Students build foundations in programming, algorithms, data structures and systems through hands-on labs and team projects, with the option to gain supervised work experience through co-op or internship placements. Admission Requirements: Offered as BA, iBA, BSc or iBSc; the BSc/iBSc variants add a senior chemistry or physics requirement on top of the common prerequisites of senior English and advanced (pre-calculus/calculus-level) mathematics, plus additional Grade 12 academic courses whose number varies by province, and Ontario applicants need a math average of at least 75% with no required math course below 65%. Admission is competitive: Lassonde's published Canadian high-school target sits around the low 80s, with a final academic average of 78% needed to maintain an offer; parallel thresholds apply elsewhere, such as a 3.7/4.0 GPA on US high-school Grade 11-12 courses, 30 IB diploma points, and 14 overall on the Baccalauréat Français, while college or university transfer applicants need an overall average of at least 3.3 on a 4-point scale. Unless exempt, applicants must meet Lassonde's undergraduate English proficiency minimums: IELTS Academic 6.5 (no band below 6.0), TOEFL iBT 88 (no section below 20), PTE Academic 60 across all sections, Duolingo 120 (no section below 105), or CAEL 60.

Winter 2027 entry closes November 18, 2026 for all applicant types and Summer 2027 entry closes April 1, 2027. York continues to accept and assess applications after these dates until each program fills. International applicants share the same March 24, 2027 Fall guaranteed-consideration date as out-of-province and transfer applicants; York publishes no separate, earlier international deadline. Exceptions include Direct Entry Nursing (February 1, 2027) and Schulich's BBA, which closes firmly on January 15, 2027 with a February 1, 2027 supplementary application. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
