Overview
This undergraduate programme in Cybersecurity teaches students to identify security risks, defend against cyber threats, and build secure software, networks and IoT systems. The curriculum is grounded in computer science and mathematics foundations and examines how artificial intelligence is transforming cybersecurity through faster threat detection and stronger defence strategies. A paid co-op option, available from second year, offers 4-, 8- or 12-month placements with employers including Toronto Hydro and the Government of Canada. The programme is offered as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, is delivered on campus at York University's Keele Campus within the Lassonde School of Engineering, and admits students in the Fall and Winter terms. Graduates pursue roles such as network-security professional, computer forensics expert, cryptographer, information security analyst and threat intelligence analyst.

Admission Requirements: For the Bachelor of Arts stream, Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) applicants need ENG4U, MHF4U, a Grade 12 U mathematics course plus three additional Grade 12 U or M courses; for the Bachelor of Science stream (OUAC code YPR), applicants need the same English and mathematics courses plus SCH4U or SPH4U and two additional Grade 12 U or M courses. Both streams require a final average of at least 78%, a mathematics average of at least 75%, and no mathematics prerequisite below 65%, with a competitive admission average typically in the low 80s. Applicants from other Canadian provinces need equivalent senior English, mathematics and (for the BSc stream) science courses, generally at a low-80s average. International applicants are assessed against credential-specific requirements for IB, GCE, Baccalaureat, HKDSE and other national diplomas.
