This informatics programme builds knowledge of computing theory, computer hardware and software, developing the ability to select or create software for practical tasks and to design solution systems individually or in a group. Subjects progress from object-oriented programming, computer architecture and discrete structures through databases, operating systems and software engineering to system simulation, concurrent programming, numerical methods, network-based services and mobile internet systems, closing with a professional internship and the bachelor's final project. Students learn to keep IT tasks confidential, accurate and available to those who need them, select appropriate development environments and tools for new or traditional applications, and prepare technical specifications and documentation. Teaching and assessment proceed module by module through classroom and individual study. Graduates can communicate IT ideas to specialists and the public in at least one foreign language and work effectively in ethically grounded development teams.
