This programme builds comprehensive theoretical knowledge and skills for constructing, operating and renovating sustainable, energy-efficient buildings, developing competencies in applying research methods and digital tools for expert analysis. Core modules include sustainable water management, intelligent heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, facilities operation and maintenance, sustainable buildings and cities, indoor-environment assessment and design, energy production and supply, and modelling a building's energy demand, developed through two research projects and a final master's project, with electives in building data analytics, machine learning, waste management and recycling, and modular and regenerative construction design. Students learn to apply innovative methods to uncertain, atypical civil-engineering problems, integrate building-information modelling and energy-simulation technologies throughout a building's life cycle, and make decisions that weigh environmental impact, circular-economy principles, safety and quality. Teaching combines classroom lectures, laboratory work and seminars with independent study, concluding with a final degree project and its defence, assessed through a cumulative system weighting intermediate and final results.
