Overview
The programme combines social work with Christian values and parish-based community practice, teaching social medicine, social philosophy, the fundamentals of social policy, the social integration of people with disabilities, rehabilitation of social risk groups, basic economics, and crisis psychology. Three internships, covering cognitive observation, personal and family social wellbeing, and community lifestyle work, run alongside the coursework before a final thesis. Learning outcomes include applying social work knowledge consistent with professional ethics and Christian principles, understanding and applying the specifics of mobilising a parish community and the activities of non-governmental organisations, conducting applied social research into what individuals, families, and communities need, and developing a programme or project to address specific professional problems through innovative practice. Graduates can work in social welfare institutions, schools, health and rehabilitation settings, law enforcement and probation services, or non-governmental organisations, taking responsibility for ongoing personal and professional growth guided by Christian values.
