General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme: Beauty therapy studies aim to develop students' critical thinking, reasoning skills and the ability to assess situations professionally and make appropriate decisions, based on an indepth knowledge base in the field. The aim of the programme is to train professionals who are able to work both independently and in teams with other professionals, to provide cosmetology services based on a holistic approach to beauty and health, and to organise a cosmetology business. It will also promote the development of science-based practice by providing knowledge of medical technologies and their application in public health areas. Learning outcomes: 1. 1. be familiar with national and international healthcare policy, legislation, safety and hygiene requirements, legal principles governing the regulation of beauty and wellness services and other documents governing the activities of beauty therapists/cosmetologists. 2. 2. knowledge of human anatomy, physiology and pathology, the ability to assess potential health risks and to apply this knowledge to professional problem solving and the identification of the need for specialist advice in health and wellness in the beauty sector. 3. Examinations are also spread evenly over the semesters. In semester VI, students have the opportunity to submit and defend their final thesis. The study programme includes 5 internships and 9 free electives. The beauty therapy study programme uses a variety of forms of teaching: lectures, exercises, seminars, independent work, individual work with the student, demonstration, observation, practical sessions with moulage and people, cosmetic products and equipment, case studies, simulation of real situations, pair and group work (discussions, project work, case studies, tests, etc.). These different forms of activities will ensure that students achieve the intended learning outcomes and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills. Methods of assessment of learning achievements: Students' achievements are evaluated on a ten-point system in accordance with the approved Procedures for the Evaluation of Student Achievements. A summative (cumulative) assessment system shall be used for student reports.
