Overview
The 210-ECTS programme combines 160 credits of compulsory coursework across the first seven semesters with 35 credits of elective subjects chosen for deeper specialisation and a further 15 credits of general university courses. Learning outcomes include identifying and analysing criminological problems using concepts and research methods drawn from sociology, law, and psychology, formulating and justifying an appropriate research design, and independently or collaboratively planning, executing, and interpreting criminological research while meeting its ethical and legal requirements. Students also learn to analyse the causes and consequences of social deviance and crime, critically assess and forecast social processes at both local and global scale, and translate research findings into practical solutions for crime prevention and criminal justice policy. Graduates are prepared to communicate findings to both specialists and non-experts and to work across institutions such as law enforcement agencies, the probation and corrections system, victim-assistance organisations, and bodies dealing with human rights, corruption, or drug control.
