Overview
Combining Christian theological grounding with social work and psychology, the programme trains students to address people's spiritual and social difficulties through subjects such as existential psychology, Christian morality and anthropology, the psychology of crisis and trauma, pastoral counselling, and Christian palliative care, alongside foundations of social work and religious studies. Three internships and a final thesis, defended in the sixth semester, complete the three-year course, with some students studying or training abroad through Erasmus+. Learning outcomes include conducting pastoral work guided by Christian moral and social teaching and professional ethics, carrying out applied social research on sustainable development and reducing social exclusion, developing and implementing plans for pastoral assistance to individuals and communities, and managing spiritual and social support processes using social work methods. Graduates are expected to communicate in Lithuanian and a foreign language and to critically reflect on their own professional growth.
