Brock University's Music program, offered through the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, leads to a Bachelor of Music (BMus) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Music. Students train in performance, theory, composition and arranging, music history, conducting, music education and choral pedagogy, or explore concentrations in Music Therapy Foundations, Music Performance, Sound Design, Community Music, and Choral Music. The BMus stream emphasizes lessons and masterclasses alongside core academic coursework, while the BA stream offers flexible course selection with optional private lessons. A combined BA Honours option lets students pair Music equally with another subject. Minors and certificates in Choral/Vocal or Instrumental Music are also available. BMus applicants complete an audition; BA applicants may apply directly, with an audition required only for optional private lessons. The program runs four years full-time and prepares graduates for careers in performance, composition, sound design, music therapy, production, and arts management.
