Cert in Fire Prevention Specialization (AEC)

This AEC-level specialization enables a certified fire-safety technician to become a fire-prevention technician and investigator, meeting the requirements of Quebec's Ministry of Education and the Ecole nationale des pompiers du Quebec. Admission is restricted to holders of the Techniques de securite incendie DEC, which allows for a reduced course load compared with similar programmes offered elsewhere. The programme includes a credited 135-hour work placement, and graduates receive a fire-prevention specialization diploma, an investigator certificate from the Ecole nationale des pompiers du Quebec, an ICS Level 100 incident-command-system certificate, and membership in the Association des techniciens en prevention des incendies du Quebec. It runs 2 sessions (6 months / 705 hours) and is delivered online, with one or two in-person days at CNDF possibly required during training. The programme is suspended for the 2026-2027 school year and is not admitting students.
