This three-year DEC is built around three training axes: forest resources, the interactions between different resources and their uses, and resource management. Students gain knowledge of forest ecosystems, sustainable management practices, professional ethics, and human-resources skills, with training organized across six activity domains: silvicultural treatments, timber harvesting, reforestation, forest infrastructure, territorial mapping and research, and ecosystem protection. The program includes more than 100 field outings, use of on-campus teaching forests and accredited forest areas, and training in modern geomatics tools such as 3D photo interpretation, GIS software, and drones. Laboratory work moves quickly from theory into hands-on practice. The program also supports a DEC-BAC pathway into related university forestry programs for students who complete the additional prerequisite courses. Graduates are prepared for careers in forest-resource planning, harvesting operations, silviculture, and conservation with government agencies and forestry companies.
