Overview
Sciences de la nature is a two-year pre-university DEC that builds a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics so graduates can pursue university studies in pure sciences, applied sciences or health sciences. The program's page describes hands-on laboratory work in most courses, alongside opportunities to apply theoretical models to real situations. Students choose among three profiles: Sciences de la vie, oriented toward biology and chemistry for those planning health-related university studies; Sciences pures et appliquees, which offers the widest choice of optional physics and mathematics courses; and Sciences de la vie+, a profile specific to this cegep that reinforces biology through advanced laboratory techniques while also preparing students for health-science studies. All three profiles retain every prerequisite course needed for university admission regardless of the chosen path. Students can also combine the program with Arts visuels, Danse, Litterature or Musique as a double DEC, take part in a research-options stream involving hands-on research and scientific-communication activities, and complete an international project during their capstone term. The program integrates eco-citizenship competencies into select courses and offers subject-specific help centres in mathematics, biology, physics and chemistry.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This two-year Préuniversitaire program may receive more applications than it has seats; when that happens, selection is based on school-record quality. Prerequisites: Mathematics - TS or SN from 5th secondary (or Mathematics 536); Chemistry from 5th secondary (or Chemistry 534); and Physics from 5th secondary (or Physics 534). General admission still runs through Cégep de Saint-Laurent's own conditions applied for through SRAM (a DES, a DEP plus the specified 5th-secondary language and 4th-secondary mathematics passes, or judged-equivalent training). Across every program at the Cégep, school-record quality is the main selection criterion: for secondary-school applicants that means 4th- and 5th-secondary results as they stand when they apply, and college-level results count too for anyone who has already attended a cégep.

Application Deadline:Domestic and international applicants to Cégep de Saint-Laurent apply through the shared SRAM portal (admission.sram.qc.ca) serving Montréal-region cégeps. For Winter 2027, applications opened 15 September 2026, Round 1 closes 1 November 2026 and Round 2 closes 25 November 2026, with unfilled seats carried forward. SRAM has not yet posted Fall 2027 domestic dates. Internationally, SRAM's Fall 2027 window runs 15 March 2026 to 14 March 2027; its next window (Winter 2028) runs 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027. Admission is rolling by round, not a single fixed date. Cégep de Saint-Laurent's own website (cegepsl.qc.ca) was unreachable (repeated connection timeouts) this session; the dates above come directly from SRAM. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
