Overview

This Double DEC combines the Sciences de la nature program, covering chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics including prerequisites for university health-science programs, with Arts visuels, letting students pursue serious scientific and visual-arts training in parallel over three years and graduate with two diplomas. The science component includes access to modern laboratories, a capstone project presented at a year-end symposium, and peer-tutoring support through the science help centre and Primath. The visual-arts component covers drawing, painting, and sculpture, along with access to specialized workshops for engraving, ceramics, woodworking, screen printing, and photography, and gives students the chance to build a professional portfolio and exhibit work in the college's on-campus gallery. As with the college's other Double DEC programs, students combining these two fields receive additional pedagogical support in recognition of the demanding combined course load, within departments described as active and well-resourced. It suits students who want to maintain university science options, particularly in health sciences, while continuing to develop as visual artists.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: This double-DEC pairs Sciences de la nature with Arts visuels. The college's double-DEC admissions page sets a course prerequisite only for the science half: Chimie 584 or 534, Mathématiques TS 5e or SN 5e (536), and Physique 584; no extra course or portfolio is specified for the Arts visuels half beyond the general requirement. Applicants qualify with a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) from the youth or adult sector, or a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) plus passes in fifth-secondary language of instruction, fifth-secondary second language and fourth-secondary mathematics, or training the Cégep judges equivalent. No distinct English- or French-language test score is set; language ability is covered by those fifth-secondary language courses. Candidates must also meet the Ministry's program-specific admission conditions, the Cégep's own admission policy and Règlement no. 12 on academic success.

Application Details

Start Date: September
Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM): Cégep Marie-Victorin's own admission page references 'session automne 2027' deposits handled directly on admission.sram.qc.ca, where the equal-consideration date is 1 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry and 1 November 2026 for Winter 2027 entry (applications opening 15 September 2026), with later rounds in late April, late May and late November respectively while seats remain. International applicants apply through the same SRAM portal: the college's own international page fixes a Fall closing date of 14 March, i.e. 14 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, and advises applying as early as possible because of immigration-processing timelines; no winter international deadline is published. Admission is rolling round to round until seats fill, but the international date is firm. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
