Overview
This Double DEC combines the Individu, culture et société profile of Sciences humaines with Arts visuels, letting students pursue a broad social-science education alongside visual-arts training over three years and graduate with two diplomas. The Sciences humaines side covers psychology, sociology, geography, history, political science, and economics, with three dedicated psychology courses and field-based coursework in sociology and history, supported by a shared social-science pavilion, a student lounge, and a peer-tutoring help centre. The visual-arts side covers drawing, painting, and sculpture, with access to specialized workshops for engraving, ceramics, woodworking, screen printing, and photography, and gives students the chance to build a professional portfolio and exhibit work in the college's on-campus gallery. As with the college's other Double DEC programs, students combining these two fields receive additional pedagogical support in recognition of the heavier combined workload, within departments described as active and well-resourced. Admission Requirements: This double-DEC pairs Sciences humaines (individu, culture et société) with Arts visuels. The college's double-DEC admissions page requires CST 4e secondaire or Mathématiques 416 for the Sciences humaines half; no extra course or portfolio is specified for the Arts visuels half beyond the general requirement. Applicants qualify with a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) from the youth or adult sector, or a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) plus passes in fifth-secondary language of instruction, fifth-secondary second language and fourth-secondary mathematics, or training the Cégep judges equivalent. No distinct English- or French-language test score is set; language ability is covered by those fifth-secondary language courses. Candidates must also meet the Ministry's program-specific admission conditions, the Cégep's own admission policy and Règlement no. 12 on academic success.
