Overview
This Double DEC combines the Sciences de la nature program, covering chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics including university prerequisites for health-science programs, with the Musique program, letting students pursue both a scientific and a musical education over three years and graduate with two diplomas rather than one. On the science side, students work in modern laboratories, choose the topic of their capstone science project, and can access peer-tutoring support through the science help centre and Primath. On the music side, students choose a classical or jazz stream and can develop performance, composition, arrangement, or technology-related skills, supported by dedicated music-technology labs, recording studios, and a concert hall. As with the college's other Double DEC programs, students combining these two fields receive additional pedagogical support and structured guidance in recognition of the demanding combined workload, and are part of active, well-established departments offering varied special activities. It suits students who want to keep university science options open while continuing serious musical training at the college level.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This double-DEC combines Sciences de la nature and Musique. Cégep Marie-Victorin's double-DEC admissions page sets prerequisites for each half: for Sciences de la nature, Chimie 584 or 534, Mathématiques TS 5e or SN 5e (536), and Physique 584; for Musique, no extra secondary course, but admission is conditional on a live audition held around mid-March, for which the college provides a preparatory workbook. Applicants qualify with a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) from the youth or adult sector, or a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) plus passes in fifth-secondary language of instruction, fifth-secondary second language and fourth-secondary mathematics, or training the Cégep judges equivalent. No distinct English- or French-language test score is set; language ability is covered by those fifth-secondary language courses. Candidates must also meet the Ministry's program-specific admission conditions, the Cégep's own admission policy and Règlement no. 12 on academic success.
Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM): Cégep Marie-Victorin's own admission page references 'session automne 2027' deposits handled directly on admission.sram.qc.ca, where the equal-consideration date is 1 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry and 1 November 2026 for Winter 2027 entry (applications opening 15 September 2026), with later rounds in late April, late May and late November respectively while seats remain. International applicants apply through the same SRAM portal: the college's own international page fixes a Fall closing date of 14 March, i.e. 14 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, and advises applying as early as possible because of immigration-processing timelines; no winter international deadline is published. Admission is rolling round to round until seats fill, but the international date is firm. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
