Cégep Marie-Victorin offers Diploma in Techniques d’éducation à l’enfance, a diploma in Early Childhood Education programme in Montréal, Canada. The programme runs for 6 semesters. Teaching is in French. Tuition for international students is CAD 15,150 per year (CAD 3,740 per year for local students).
Éducation à l'enfance is a technical DEC that prepares students to support the development and well-being of children aged 0 to 12 in early-childhood settings. The program favours an active, hands-on pedagogy: students learn through cooking, creative projects, and movement activities, and gain real-world experience through visits to childcare settings, educational outings, and meetings with early-childhood professionals. A dedicated play laboratory lets students practice arranging a room and leading activities with children from an on-site childcare centre (CPE), and students also have access to a second-floor observation space within a CPE for observing children in a real setting, plus a four-season outdoor classroom for outdoor-education practice. Classrooms are flexible, supporting psychomotor, culinary, and artistic activities. Students can pursue the DEC on an intensive two-year track under certain conditions, or a standard three- or four-year track with or without a work-study balance. The program includes three distinct internships (stages) in childcare environments, with required background checks and first-aid training provided as part of preparation. It suits students who want to work directly with young children in daycare, preschool, or related early-childhood roles.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Éducation à l'enfance's admissions page states no course prerequisite beyond the college's general secondary-diploma requirement. Applicants qualify with a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) from the youth or adult sector, or a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) plus passes in fifth-secondary language of instruction, fifth-secondary second language and fourth-secondary mathematics, or training the Cégep judges equivalent. No distinct English- or French-language test score is set; language ability is covered by those fifth-secondary language courses. Candidates must also meet the Ministry's program-specific admission conditions, the Cégep's own admission policy and Règlement no. 12 on academic success. The admissions page does not mention a background check, immunisation record or interview as a condition of admission. Candidates apply for this programme through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM), which lists the required application documents.
Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM): Cégep Marie-Victorin's own admission page references 'session automne 2027' deposits handled directly on admission.sram.qc.ca, where the equal-consideration date is 1 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry and 1 November 2026 for Winter 2027 entry (applications opening 15 September 2026), with later rounds in late April, late May and late November respectively while seats remain. International applicants apply through the same SRAM portal: the college's own international page fixes a Fall closing date of 14 March, i.e. 14 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, and advises applying as early as possible because of immigration-processing timelines; no winter international deadline is published. Admission is rolling round to round until seats fill, but the international date is firm. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
