Overview
Soins infirmiers is a three-year technical DEC at Collège de Rosemont preparing students to contribute to the health of people of all ages through therapeutic relationships and a wide range of nursing and medical care. Learning takes place in classroom-based simulated hospital units and through clinical placements (stages) in health institutions starting in the first year, some of them at the college's own health teaching clinic, complemented by clinical simulations at the ESPA Montréal centre at Hôpital Jean-Talon. An intercultural approach helps students account for the values, beliefs, and lived experience of the people they care for. Students can work in the health field during their studies as orderlies (préposé aux bénéficiaires) or nursing externs, gaining parallel clinical experience alongside their placements. A DEC-BAC agreement offers a recognized pathway into a bachelor's degree in nursing science, easing the transition to further study through course-credit recognition between institutions. Admission requires a secondary diploma with a physics prerequisite; students without the required chemistry course take adapted chemistry courses in their first year, or may first complete Tremplin DEC. The program is generally selective, based on academic record. It suits students pursuing a nursing career across hospital, community, and long-term care settings.

Préalable exigé: Science et technologie de l'environnement (STE) de 4e secondaire, ou Sciences et environnement (SE) de 4e secondaire, ou Sciences physiques 436. La chimie de 5e secondaire (ou Chimie 534) est un atout et non un préalable: qui ne l'a pas doit suivre deux cours de chimie adaptés durant la première année, ou peut la faire d'abord via le cheminement Tremplin DEC. 100 places sont offertes à la session d'automne; aucune nouvelle admission à la session d'hiver. L'admission se fait par le SRAM. Étudiants internationaux: ce programme n'admet pas d'élèves sans droit de séjour au Canada.

Admission is not rolling beyond SRAM's rounds. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
