Overview
This Bachelor of Science with a Specialization or Honours in Ecology examines the relationships among living things and their environment, including population growth, competition, predation, and parasitism, and the interactions between organisms and soil, air, water, and solar radiation. Students receive training in field research, molecular ecology, and biostatistics, with the Specialization requiring 60 credits and the Honours option 72 credits. Classes are held on the Loyola campus. Full-time study takes a minimum of three to four years (90-120 credits), depending on the student's academic background, with admission in the Fall or Winter term. Graduates are prepared for further study or careers in conservation, environmental research, and resource management.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: High School applicants need a B- overall average and B- in math and science, with completed courses in Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Concordia's institution-wide English proficiency minimum applies unless exempt: IELTS Academic 6.0 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 70, or Duolingo English Test 105. Fall applications are due March 1 and Winter applications November 1.
