The Graduate Diploma in Management – Private and Public Sectors (D.E.S.S. en gestion – secteurs privé et public) is a 30-credit, second-cycle program offered jointly by HEC Montréal and the École nationale d'administration publique (ENAP). It examines management issues common to private enterprise, social enterprise and public administration, developing students' ability to interact, collaborate and negotiate across these different organizational contexts. Coursework covers social responsibility, ethics in public services, and the legal dimensions of publicly led projects, with the option to deepen study in areas such as unionized environments, heavily regulated sectors and collective enterprises. Some courses may be delivered online, and the remaining courses are delivered in hybrid format at the Côte-des-Neiges campus, alternating weeks of remote and in-person instruction, on a full-time or part-time basis in the evening. Under certain conditions, the diploma serves as a pathway into the Master's in Management (M. Sc.) – Private and Public Sectors at HEC Montréal.
