Overview
This Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Sports Administration is a four-year, on-campus program combining core business education with sport-industry specialization. The first year introduces management science, accounting, economics, statistics, and foundational sport-business courses; the second builds on accounting, finance, human resources, sports marketing, and event and facility operations; the third adds sports finance, sports law, and sports media and communications; and the fourth centres on strategic management, a supervised internship of four to eight months with a sports organization, and a capstone consulting project in which students present business solutions to real sports organizations, including an international travel component. Industry speakers and networking events run throughout the program. It suits students aiming for careers in the business side of sport, and graduates go on to roles with professional sports organizations and leagues, sponsorship and athlete representation agencies, sports non-profits, athletic apparel companies, and general business sectors that value commerce training.
Requirements
Minimum GPA:75.00 / %
Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma applicants need one Grade 12 English U/M course, one Grade 12 U/M mathematics course (a second is strongly recommended), and four further Grade 12 U/M courses, with a minimum overall average of 75% across the best six Grade 12 U/M courses. Applicants presenting Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate credentials, and non-Ontario Canadian high-school graduates, college transfers, university transfers, or mature students, are assessed under Laurentian's separate general admission pages for each category, which the programme page links to rather than restating. Once enrolled, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 4.0 on Laurentian's own scale and a minimum grade of C in all required courses to proceed into upper years. The programme page does not state an English-proficiency test score.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Laurentian's Canadian- and international-applicant pages publish recurring annual deadlines without stating an entry year, so the dates below are each one's next future occurrence measured from September 2026. For September 2027 entry, domestic Group A (current Ontario high-school, OUAC 101) applicants face a January 15, 2027 deadline and Group B (other domestic, OUAC 105) applicants August 1, 2027; Group B's next January-entry deadline is December 1, 2026 and next May-entry deadline is April 1, 2027. International applicants must apply by June 15, 2027 (documents June 20, 2027) for September 2027 entry; the recurring January-entry international deadline next falls on August 15, 2026, already past, so no January 2027 international deadline remains open, and no May-entry international deadline is published. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing carries a February 1, 2027 deadline for both domestic and international applicants (September entry only). The Bachelor of Architectural Studies is administered separately by the McEwen School of Architecture, whose own page remains locked to the 2026-2027 (Fall 2026) cycle — OUAC deadline January 15, 2026, portfolio/statement of interest February 14, 2026 — with no Fall 2027 dates yet posted. Laurentian does not describe admission as rolling. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
