Trades - Apprenticeship in Construction Electrician

This apprenticeship leads to Red Seal certification as a construction electrician, a compulsory trade in New Brunswick. Apprentices learn to plan, assemble, install, alter, repair, inspect, test, commission and maintain the electrical systems that provide heating, lighting, power, security, communication and control in residential, commercial, institutional, industrial and entertainment settings. Training builds familiarity with wiring methods, electrical code requirements, circuit design, and the tools and testing equipment used on the job. As a designated apprenticeship trade, the program combines supervised, paid employment with a licensed electrical contractor and periods of technical instruction delivered through New Brunswick's apprenticeship system, with NBCC as a training provider for the classroom component. Apprentices work under a certified journeyperson electrician while progressing toward a New Brunswick Diploma of Apprenticeship and a Certificate of Qualification recognized across Canada through the Red Seal program.
