Overview
This diploma program at NorQuest College builds a foundation for careers in law enforcement, advocacy, and community justice. The interdisciplinary curriculum covers Canadian law, ethics, and social systems alongside crisis intervention, mental health support, communication, and advocacy strategies for working with diverse populations. The program runs over four core terms, with an optional fifth term for interested students pursuing additional field experience. The program is based at the Edmonton campus. The programme qualifies for a study permit but, as of June 2025, does not qualify for a post-graduate work permit, and it is not currently open to international students.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires English Language Arts 30-1 at 60% or 30-2 at 70% (or the equivalent ESLG 1860/1898 at 50-70%); a free academic assessment is available for applicants who have submitted an application. Non-native English speakers must submit proof: IELTS Academic 6.5 with no section below 6, TOEFL iBT 84 with no section below 21, CAEL 70, Duolingo 115, or CLBA/CLBPA with no section below 8. A 1.0 term and cumulative GPA is required to remain in good standing and to graduate, with honours awarded for an overall GPA of 3.7 or higher. The programme is not currently open to international students.
