Overview
Medical Radiologic Technology is a 28-month advanced diploma preparing radiologic technologists to produce diagnostic images using x-ray and related imaging equipment across specialties including general radiography, mammography, angiography, fluoroscopy, and CT. Training combines classroom instruction with clinical placements at partner hospitals, developing skills in patient positioning, radiation safety, image analysis, and supporting radiologists during procedures. The program is delivered at the Notre Dame Campus in Winnipeg, and because it is funded, admission is open to Manitoba residents only. Graduates are eligible to challenge the national certification exams of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and are prepared for careers as medical radiologic technologists within hospital and diagnostic imaging departments; the program also carries Canadian Armed Forces recognition.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must provide proof of graduation from, or enrolment in, Grade 12, including one credit each in Applied Math 40S or Pre-Calculus Math 40S, Biology 40S, Physics 40S, and English 40S, with a minimum of 80% in each course. Applicants who completed three years of full-time high school in Canada, the United States, or an ELR-exempt country in English meet the English Language Requirement; others must provide proof of an approved English language assessment. A completed Applicant Declaration for Check Documents Form and a Program Readiness Video are required, along with official transcripts submitted within six months of application. This is a Special Selection program in which admission offers depend on Readiness Video scores. A Criminal Record Check, abuse registry checks, current First Aid certification, and required immunizations must be submitted after classes begin. This funded program is open to Manitoba residents only, and the annual application deadline is February 1.
