Paramedicine - Primary Care Paramedicine is a 20-month diploma preparing students for emergency medical services careers through classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience. Year one consists of 45 weeks of classroom instruction across three terms, followed in year two by 15 weeks of additional theory and 15 weeks of work-integrated learning through clinical and field practicum placements. The academic portion is delivered primarily in person, with select online classes and lab sessions held at the Notre Dame Campus in Winnipeg, while clinical and field placements take place in Winnipeg and rural communities across Manitoba. The program is accredited by Accreditation Canada EQual and carries Canadian Armed Forces recognition. Because the program is funded, admission is open to Manitoba residents only. Graduates are eligible to write the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators' national Entry-to-Practice Exam and are prepared for careers as primary care paramedics within Manitoba's emergency medical services system.
