The Business Accountancy post-graduate diploma prepares graduates of an existing diploma or degree program to work toward the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Canada designation. Over 20 months, the curriculum covers accounting practices and principles, accounting management, taxation, business communications, and business law as it relates to finance, building the technical accounting knowledge employers expect at the professional level. The program includes a four-month work-integrated learning placement, giving students practical, real-world experience in an accounting workplace before graduation. It runs on a January start and is currently open to international students only. The program builds on an applicant's existing diploma or degree rather than starting from scratch, layering Canadian accounting practice on top of prior post-secondary study. Graduates leave with the applied accounting, taxation, and business-law knowledge needed to pursue accounting, bookkeeping, and financial-analysis roles, or to continue toward professional CPA certification in Canada.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must submit proof of graduation from, or enrolment in the final year of, a post-secondary diploma program of two years or longer, or a degree, with official transcripts sent directly from the institution. Applicants who completed at least three years of full-time secondary education in Canada, the United States, or an ELR-exempt country with English as the language of instruction meet the English language requirement automatically; others must complete an approved English language assessment. Applicants with related work experience will also be considered, and an interview may be required to determine suitability. The program is currently open to international students only.
